In the context of therapy, Counselling is a talking therapy where individuals, couples or groups discuss the emotional and psychological issues that are affecting their quality of life.

Psychotherapy is a process through which two or more people explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours from the past or present to try and understand how best to improve their quality of life.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is an evidence-based theory of personality and a system for personal growth and change.  Created by Eric Berne in the 1950s and 60s with the aim of moving away from a medical model of psychoanalysis towards a more equal and relatable form of understanding between a client and therapist.

TA has a number of different schools within it that work in four different fields: Counselling, Psychotherapy, Education and Organisations.

People can talk about anything in Psychotherapy that they feel is relevant. With TA the aim is to have goal to work towards. The work could be exploring what you want to get out of the sessions. Or if known, it could be specifically focused on a psychological condition, for example wanting to manage depressive symptoms better.

Couples

• First session 50 minutes free
• 50 minute couple session  £95
• Block of 12 sessions  £1030 (£110 saving)
• 90 minute couple session  £140

An initial session is usually 30 minutes while regular sessions will vary from 50 minutes for individual up to 90 minutes for couples.

This can range from 1 session to many sessions lasting a number of years. A lot depends on the support you are looking for. These can be discussed and agreed depending on what is best for you.

Cancellations made with 24 hrs or less notice shall be charged half of the usual full fee.  If no notice is given, the full fee is charged. I appreciate that unavoidable emergencies do arise from time and the impacts of these can be discussed on a case by case basis

I work both during the day, and the evening, and as such I can be flexible about finding a time best suited to you.

Yes. The refund will be calculated as total amount left, minus the sum at the individual rate.

For example, if you buy a bulk set of couples sessions for £1680 and decide after six sessions you want to end our work early, the total of six couple sessions without the bulk discount would be £840, so the refund calculation would be £1512 minus £840. The refunded amount would be £672.
